SINGAPORE<\/strong> \u2013 Mapletree Investments (\u201cMapletree\u201d or \u201cthe Group\u201d) is pleased to commemorate 15 years of giving back to the community with the launch of its first commemorative book, Letters to the Next Generation,<\/em> at Alexandra Retail Centre on 30 July 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched by Guest-of-Honour Ms Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs & Trade and Industry, the book chronicles Mapletree\u2019s journey in Corporate Social Responsibility (\u201cCSR\u201d) and highlights key milestones, stories and people who have made an impact in our journey over the years, offering a collection of timely reflections and enduring insights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, Mapletree, said, \u201cLetters to the Next Generation <\/em>reflects Mapletree\u2019s steadfast commitment to the community, as guided by our CSR Framework built on four pillars \u2013 Arts, Education, Environment and Healthcare. In addition to commemorating 15 years of doing good and giving back, the book pays tribute to the dedication of our employees, partners and the resilience of those who have embraced these opportunities to contribute to the community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the launch, a giant installation of the book was created, complete with a preview of stories, quotes and photographs found in Letters to the Next Generation<\/em>. Members of the public are invited to pen their Letters to the Next Generation<\/em> and add them to the installation, which remains on display until 8 August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also kickstarted Mapletree Community Month 2025 \u2013 the Group\u2019s flagship community engagement initiative held annually in August. The month-long activities bring together the working community across Mapletree properties islandwide, encouraging Mapletree employees and tenants to lend their time and efforts to meaningful causes. In line with SG60 celebrations, the Group has rolled out 14 initiatives this year, building on the momentum of previous editions. These efforts are aligned with the four pillars of Mapletree\u2019s CSR Framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural edition in 2023 featured nine community activities and raised more than S$17,000 for charity. Last year\u2019s edition saw an increase to 11 community activities and raised a record S$21,000 for charity. More than 810 volunteer and learning hours were clocked over both editions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rounding off the launch event, Mapletree presented a special edition of Mapletree Arts in the City <\/em>(\u201cMAITC\u201d), featuring Singapore Townscapes in Symphony<\/em> by the Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra (\u201cACSO\u201d). The one-hour public performance is a special edition of MAITC, a regular lunchtime performance, as part of the Group\u2019s efforts to bring the arts closer to the working community. It showcased a diverse repertoire of Singaporean music to celebrate SG60, which included A Xinyao Journey<\/em>: A nostalgic exploration of Singaporean Mandarin pop music; Bedok: Legacy by the Sea<\/em>: A musical tribute to the coastal heritage of Bedok; Melodies of the Lion City<\/em>: A celebration of iconic Singaporean tunes and Reminiscing Geylang Serai<\/em>: A vibrant evocation of the Geylang Serai district’s cultural richness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACSO is a Singapore-based orchestra founded in 2016, dedicated to celebrating and promoting the rich tapestry of Asian cultural music within a symphonic context. The orchestra serves as a dynamic platform for the performance of Asian symphonic compositions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mapletree is also supporting the Malaysian segment of ACSO\u2019s Musical Mosaics: ImagineAsian concert, on 10 August 2025 at the Victoria Concert Hall, which will showcase renowned musicians and composers from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia, highlighting the friendship and cultural exchange between Singapore and its ASEAN neighbours. Mapletree\u2019s support includes commissioning of a new work by Malaysian composer Loh Ui Li, as well as the engagement of Rais Iqbal, a Malaysian soloist, playing the seruling and serunai for the concert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
