It is in line with the Group\u2019s overall strategy to invest in strong-yielding assets to further grow its business and earnings.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Said Mr Hiew Yoon Khong, Mapletree Group Chief Executive Officer: \u201cKumho Asiana Plaza is a rare asset given its attributes such as size, its multiple components with strong occupancies, and location in the heart of HCMC\u2019s central business district. All our investments in Vietnam are geared towards broadening and growing our earnings base, to delivering strong and stable returns.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kumho Asiana Plaza is a prime mixed-use asset with close to 146,000 square metres (\u201csqm\u201d) in gross floor area (\u201cGFA\u201d). It comprises Grade A offices, highly-rated serviced apartments and a hotel managed by InterContinental Hotels Group, as well as a variety of food &amp; beverage (\u201cF&amp;B\u201d) offerings. Occupancies for the office and serviced apartment components, as well as the F&amp;B podium, have been consistently above 90%.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The asset is located along Le Duan Boulevard and Hai Ba Trung Street in the heart of HCMC\u2019s central business district. The development\u2019s prominent location is further enhanced by its extensive four-road frontage. It is also close to the city\u2019s major landmarks and tourist attractions such as the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mapletree began investing in Vietnam in 2005, and today owns and manages a portfolio comprising office, retail, industrial, logistics, and serviced apartment assets. Including Kumho Asiana Plaza, the Group now has over S$1 billion in assets under management in the country.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mapletree is also in the midst of developing Saigon South Place, a 4.4-hectare mixed-use project located along Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard in District 7\u2019s Tan Phong Ward. Work on a 30,000 sqm Grade A office tower is expected to be completed by end 2016, while construction of an internationally-operated serviced apartment building and a residential block will start soon and both are scheduled for completion by early 2018.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When completed, Saigon South Place will comprise Grade A office towers, serviced apartment and residential buildings, as well as the already operating shopping and lifestyle destination SC VivoCity.
