SINGAPORE<\/strong> –<\/strong>\u00a0Mapletree Investments (\u201cMapletree\u201d or \u201cthe Group\u201d) is pleased to present a musical concert with the Singapore Police Force Band (“SPF Band”), marking their inaugural collaboration of music and community engagement at VivoCity, Singapore.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert, themed \u201cSalute to Heroes\u201d, aims to honour and pay tribute to everyday heroes who make a positive impact in our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Said Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, Mapletree: \u201cAs a company deeply rooted in the local community, Mapletree recognises the importance of building strong relationships through shared experiences. This concert with SPF Band aptly reinforces Mapletree\u2019s unwavering commitment to bring the arts to the heart of our community while celebrating the extraordinary acts of heroism that shape our everyday lives.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe SPF Band is thrilled to initiate its inaugural collaboration with Mapletree. It is uplifting to witness both organisations championing the arts through musical performances, all while contributing to a meaningful cause. This performance is dedicated to all citizens – who have played an important role in keeping Singapore safe and secure and acknowledges their collective efforts in safeguarding the nation,” said Director of Music, Superintendent of Police, Sulaiman Abdul Wahab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one-hour concert, scheduled for 16 March 2024, Saturday at VivoCity Amphitheatre, combines the talents of the SPF Band and the heartfelt theme of heroism. The “Salute to Heroes” performance is organised on a not-for-profit basis, and any revenue generated will be donated to charities. Tickets to the concert are available for purchase via Eventbrite<\/a> at S$4 to S$5 each, with a discounted rate via the \u201cfamily and friends bundle\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees can expect an evening filled with captivating performances, engaging visuals and a shared appreciation for the Home Team officers among us. The concert\u2019s lineup will showcase a diverse range of musical pieces, including a medley from \u2018The Little Mermaid\u2019, iconic tunes from \u2018Star Wars\u2019, Mariah Carey\u2019s hit song \u2018Hero\u2019, the unique fusion of Glenn and Wolfgang and a musical piece on the bagpipes. The SPF Band was formed in 1925 as the Straits Settlement Police Band. Over the years, it has evolved from a strict regimental marching band to a versatile performance band. Apart from being the oldest and one of the premier bands in Singapore, it also has the distinction of being the only band complemented by a group of bag pipers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
