This is the first shopping mall in Vietnam to achieve LEED Certification in this category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1280\" src=\"https:\/\/mapletree-dev.altis.cloud\/tachyon\/2025\/03\/SCVivo_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21462\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\" style=\"font-size:12px\"><em>SC VivoCity \u2013 The first shopping mall in Vietnam to achieve LEED Gold Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (v4.1)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike the LEED certification for new construction or major renovations (LEED Building Design and Construction (BD+C)), or the LEED certification for complete interior fit-out projects (LEED Interior Design and Construction (ID+C)), which primarily focuses on the construction and\/or major renovation phases of a building, the LEED certification for existing buildings (LEED Building Operations and Maintenance (O+M)) is an international standard that evaluates and recognises buildings that excel in improving performance and maintaining sustainable practices throughout the building&#8217;s operation and maintenance. This includes water efficiency, energy efficiency, waste management, material quality, transportation, and indoor air quality and environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its establishment in 2015, SC VivoCity Shopping Mall has continuously made improvements, especially in the field of energy conservation. In 2021, SC VivoCity successfully installed renewable energy system, achieving saving up to 6.8% of the total electricity consumption of the entire mall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"569\" height=\"344\" src=\"https:\/\/mapletree-dev.altis.cloud\/tachyon\/2025\/03\/SCVivo_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21463\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\" style=\"font-size:12px\"><em>Top-view of solar energy system installed at SC VivoCity<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Do Huu Nhat Quang, Co-founder of Green Building Consultancy Company Limited (Green Viet) emphasised, &#8220;We are very pleased that SC VivoCity is the first shopping mall in Vietnam to be awarded LEED Gold certification in the category of Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (v4.1).
