SINGAPORE<\/strong> – Mapletree Investments (\u201cMapletree\u201d or \u201cthe Group\u201d), in partnership with The TENG Company (\u201cTENG\u201d), has awarded the Mapletree-TENG Scholarship 2026 to five outstanding young musicians after a rigorous selection process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 scholarship recipients \u2013 Chia Jia Jun Eddy, Clarissa See, Xie Ruoqing Claudia, Yang Lin Xuan and Zhang Aizhou \u2013 will receive financial assistance to support their continued growth in Chinese music. With a total disbursement of S$55,000<\/strong>, the scholarship is designed to empower youths from less-privileged backgrounds. Each scholar brings passion and dedication to their craft, and this support helps open doors to opportunities that nurture both artistic and personal growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entering its ninth year, the Mapletree-TENG Scholarship reflects a sustained collaboration between Mapletree and TENG to cultivate emerging talent in the Chinese music landscape. The two-year programme delivers a comprehensive learning experience, combining mentorship, structured training, music theory instruction and performance platforms. In parallel, scholars contribute to the community through outreach efforts, reinforcing the role of music in social impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its inception, the initiative has supported a total of 43 scholarships, underscoring its long-term commitment to advancing arts education and creating pathways for young musicians to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cSince establishing the scholarship in partnership with TENG in 2018, our aim has been to go beyond financial assistance by providing young musicians with meaningful performance opportunities to develop their craft and inspire them to give back to the community through the arts. We are encouraged by the positive outcomes achieved to date, and we are pleased to continue to support our scholars in their musical growth,\u201d said Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, Mapletree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recipients from earlier cohorts have continued to make significant strides, earning recognition on national platforms such as the Singapore Chinese Music Competition. At the 2024 edition, scholarship recipients Li Zhixin, Claudia Xie, Preston Ang, and Ee Anzhi received awards in their respective categories, reflecting both their growth and dedication. Beyond competitions, scholars have also gained valuable performance experience on prominent stages with Ee Anzhi performing at the National Day Parade in 2025, and Li Zhixin, Clarissa See, and Ee Anzhi taking the stage at the Istana Open House in 2026. These milestones have contributed to their artistic maturity and personal confidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What began as an effort to support promising young musicians has evolved into a dynamic pipeline, nurturing not just artistic excellence, but confident, purpose-driven individuals who carry culture forward in meaningful ways. As we look ahead, our ambition is to deepen this impact \u2014 to widen access, strengthen pathways and build a thriving ecosystem where young musicians can grow from learners into leaders and changemakers. We believe that Chinese music is not only a heritage to be preserved, but a living, evolving art form that speaks to new generations and new audiences.
