SINGAPORE<\/strong> – Mapletree Investments (\u201cMapletree\u201d or \u201cthe Group\u201d) is pleased to present the School of the Arts, Singapore (\u201cSOTA\u201d) Primary 6 Art Competition 2022 Top 50 Finalists Exhibition (\u201cthe Exhibition\u201d) at VivoCity from 4 to 17 April 2022. Running in its third edition, the Exhibition showcases the paintings and drawings of the Top 50 Finalists, as per this year\u2019s theme of \u201cMy Future World\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Exhibition is an extension of Mapletree\u2019s support for the SOTA Primary 6 Art Competition, which the Group has supported for four consecutive years under its corporate social responsibility\u2019s arts and education pillars. The SOTA Primary 6 Art Competition is a nationwide event to encourage and provide a platform for young artists to express their creativity and hone their talents in Visual Arts since the year 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Edmund Cheng, Mapletree\u2019s Chairman said, \u201cMapletree is pleased to see rising interest in the competition, which we hope signals a bright future for the arts industry. Once again, the talent, passion and creativity displayed by this year\u2019s entries, from more than 140 schools nationwide, are commendable. We hope visitors at the VivoCity Exhibition will appreciate and be fascinated by the students\u2019 perspective of the future world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Mary Seah, SOTA Principal said, \u201cThis competition aims to provide a platform for aspiring young artists to respond to contemporary themes with imagination. We hope that these young artists have enjoyed the process and are ready to consider honing their talents further at SOTA. We are pleased that the Top 50 Finalists\u2019 works are being exhibited at VivoCity and hope that visitors will enjoy the Exhibition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the budding young artists created 2D artworks that give a glimpse into what they envision the world will be like in the coming years. Apart from the VivoCity Exhibition, the artworks were also on display at SOTA from 25 to 29 March 2022. The Top 50 Finalists were invited to the SOTA Junior Academy and received Mapletree vouchers as well as art supply vouchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors at the Exhibition are invited to participate in a social media contest to win $30 Mapletree vouchers. Entries are required to take a photo of their favourite artwork at the Exhibition and upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #SOTAP6ArtComVivo.
