Developing for success and sustainability
Corporate Social Responsibility

At Mapletree, we strive to incorporate sustainable practices and generate positive outcomes in the communities where we operate. The Group is committed to long-term partnerships with stakeholders and beneficiaries with sustained outcomes.

Underpinning our efforts is the Mapletree Shaping & Sharing Programme, which is a group-wide framework directed at achieving greater outreach through a more focused approach to CSR.

Guided by two broad objectives – Empowering Individuals and Enriching Communities, the programme supports educational and healthcare causes that alleviate poverty, as well as environmentally sustainable practices and artistic efforts driven through our business activities.

We align business performance with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts by setting aside S$1 million annually to fund social commitments and programmes. This is increased to S$2 million when the Group’s profit after tax and minority interests (PATMI) for the year exceeds S$300 million.

Further testament of our commitment to CSR, a five-member Board Committee comprising senior management and members from the boards of Mapletree's REITs, provides strategic oversight of the Shaping & Sharing Programme. To ensure good governance and enable a diversity and exchange of views, representatives from the Mapletree REITs are rotated on a two-year basis on this committee.
