Mapletree Industrial Trust launched two safety related events with the Work Place Safety and Health Council (WSHC) in November 2012 and Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) in December 2012.

Held between 20 November and 7 December 2012, Workplace Safety and Health exhibits were displayed at 8 MIT properties island-wide and reached more than 100 companies and their employees. The MIT properties involved in this initiative included Loyang 1, 6 Serangoon North, Woodlands Spectrum, Changi North, Tiong Bahru 2, The Signature, The Strategy and The Synergy.

AVA’s Food Safety Roadshow held on 11 December 2012 at MIT’s dedicated food factory KAFoodlink at Kampong Ampat targeted food manufacturing businesses and food handlers. The campaign was part of AVA’s efforts to promote food safety awareness of the food manufacturing industry in Singapore by educating workers in the targeted industry on the importance of food safety. Using exhibitions and demonstrations, the roadshow provided useful tips and reminders on maintaining proper hygiene standards.

For more information on workplace safety and food hygiene, please refer to the WSHC’s website (www.wshc.sg) and AVA’s website (www.ava.gov.sg).
