Mapletree Industrial supported and participated in the annual Mass Fire Evacuation Drills for commercial and industrial premises. Our clusters which had participated in this major event were Woodlands Spectrum and Tiong Bahru 1 & 2.

This event was organised by The National Fire and Civil Emergency Preparedness Council (NFEC). The primary objective of the event is to promote emergency evacuation awareness in both commercial and industrial premises as well as the general public.

Tiong Bahru 1 & 2 and Woodlands Spectrum’s fire drills were conducted on 21 and 28 September 2012 respectively. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) also conducted a fire extinguisher demonstration for our tenants at Woodlands Spectrum. Participants were taught and given hands-on opportunities to put out small fires with fire extinguishers thus building up their confidence and competency in using the extinguishers. This will go a long way to help prevent major fire catastrophes from taking place at our workplace.

MIT is proud to participate in this meaningful event. We will continue to step up our efforts in making our properties a safer place to work in!
