Mapletree-sponsored UNICON 2026 marks fourth year of connecting over 300 young entrepreneurs across Asia

SINGAPORE – Mapletree Investments (“Mapletree” or “the Group”) is pleased to continue its sponsorship for UNICON 2026 for the fourth consecutive year since 2023. Held at Mapletree Business City on 16 and 17 January 2026, the two-day event drew over 300 participants, including students, professionals and industry leaders across Asia.

Organised by the National University of Singapore’s (“NUS”) Entrepreneurship Society (“NES”), UNICON 2026, is one of Asia’s largest student-led entrepreneurship and tech conference to promote entrepreneurship. This year’s conference, themed “Innovating Beyond Borders”, brought together 51 local and international student entrepreneurs, local start-ups, angel investors and venture capitalists. Held at Mapletree Business City, the event began with a welcome address by guest-of-honour, Mr Lim Joo Boon, Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman, Audit and Risk Committee, Mapletree Logistics Trust Management Ltd.

UNICON 2026 offered valuable content through panel discussions, fireside chats, keynote speeches and master classes. Besides the opportunity to network, participants explored topics ranging from artificial intelligence to finance, gaining insights from startup founders, C-suite executives and venture capitalists on key industry trends including the integration of technology with entrepreneurship.

Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, Mapletree, said, “Mapletree’s support for UNICON reflects our commitment to supporting education, one of the four pillars of our Corporate Social Responsibility Framework. By igniting confidence, creativity and resilience, initiatives like UNICON empower the next generation to transform bold ideas into reality. Through our continued partnership for the fourth year, we look forward to witnessing innovation that delivers meaningful impact across industries and communities.”

UNICON 2026 also hosted the Asia leg of TigerLaunch, the world’s largest student-led pitching competition, organised by the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club in partnership with NES. The competition saw over 10 startups from all over Asia presenting their business ideas before a panel of 7 venture capitalists.

As part of the sponsorship, Mapletree presented cash prizes of S$3,000, S$2,000 and S$1,000 to the top three business ideas. The Grand Champion of the TigerLaunch Asia Regionals, Reflexion, will advance to the TigerLaunch finals at Princeton University in the United States in April 2026, competing for the US$60,000 prize money and access to exclusive accelerator programmes such as the prestigious Y Combinator. Reflexion co-founders, Chloe Tan and Kong Kei-lyn from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS shared, “Winning TigerLaunch Asia affirms our mission to build a future where ageing is healthier, more dignified, and seniors can live independently.
